Saturday in the Kitchen

Home culturing and fermenting was the name of the game this week. There's currently some ginger beer in the making that's highly anticipated. If all goes well, there'll be some soy-yogurt later in the week as well. I'm currently trying to make some injera (an Ethiopian bread) from scratch, which is a several-day long process that involves letting teff flour sour in water. It turns out that teff is a total pain to grind up in a mortar and pestle. A grain mill is next on my farm house wish-list.

History in the Making
