Farm House is an interest living house at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Originally the location of the college dairy, it is now home to 17 students who participate in communal living; dinners, common space, music, and knowledge are shared. The focus is sustainable living, and new measures are constantly being implemented to reduce the environmental footprint of the house and its residents by such tried-and-true methods as canning, knitting, seasonal cooking, and composting.

The house yard is home to a communal garden, run by the Farm Club, whose members and organizers sometimes live in the house as well. Fresh produce in the garden is bountiful and eaten during the Minnesota growing season.

All Carleton students and members of the Northfield community are invited to participate in gardening, open vegetarian dinners monday through thursday, and events throughout the year to help promote knowledge and awareness pertaining to sustainable living, organic gardening, and support of the local community.
